Acrylates provide specialized functionality in monomer mixtures used to produce copolymer based adhesive and sealant products. They are frequently used in construction adhesives, gaskets, automotive paints, and UV cured resins for gaskets, windshield chip and crack repair, taillight lens repair, and highway and bridge deck repair. They impart adhesion, flexibility, weatherability, internal plasticization, hardness control, and abrasion resistance, and resistance to oils and greases. Acrylates and acrylic acid are used as building blocks purification and wastewater treatment processes.
